The organization " Star Rain" has been working in the field of "special childhood" for more than 20 years. We started as parents and volunteers, gaining experience and learning. During these years we have grown from a small community of up to 10 families into an organization which has united specialists, parents and state institutions of the whole region in order to help children, teenagers and young people with mental disabilities and the families in which they live.
The preparation of the Rotary project to help the organization "Star Rain" began in 2010, together with the creation of the Rotary Club of Chelyabinsk. The initiators of the project were Jörg Dienenthal who was connected with Chelyabinsk business, RС Siegen (Germany) and RС Chelyabinsk. A grant from the Rotary Foundation was received to implement the project. But unfortunately in 2014 the bank to which the Rotary Foundation funds were transferred went bankrupt and the funds could not be returned. So it took some more time for this project to be able to resume.
In 2020, a county grant was approved on an application from RС (Germany). And finally, in August 2021, the equipment to equip the gym with specialized exercise equipment from the St. Petersburg company "Nanny Owl" arrived in Chelyabinsk in the new premises of the organization "Star Rain". Members of Rotary Club of Chelyabinsk also attended the event.
This project - once again shows that Rotary keeps its word, and that friendship between Rotary clubs and people of Russia and Germany is a value that bears real fruit.
At present preparation of documents for reception of the second purchase by the organization "Star rain" under the grant of educational equipment from the company "Information solutions" is in process.
