ICC Meeting in Berlin from 29.11. - 03.12.2012 in connection with the Global Rotary Peace Forum of World President Sakuji Tanaka from 30.11. - 02.12.2012. As guests from Germany participated in the charter for the RC Wuppertal (International Sponsor) PE Dietrich Fudickar and for the leading district 1810 as well as the country committee PDG Uwe Kayser. The day was marked by a visiting of the social project of the Clubs (home for children with tuberculosis), a press conference, a ceremony in the presence of DG Alexander Borisov and his wife, and an atmospheric gala. For a Matching Grant planned in 2012/2013 for the children - tuberculosis home, the guests from Germany brought a funding commitment of a total of 9,000 US $.
10th International Russian Rotary Children Music Competition on 30.03. and 01.04.2012 in Moscow. The final of the competition took place in the famous Rachmaninoff Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory with orchestra. D 1810 was sponsor of the (in the result divided) third prize(1000 US $), which was handed over by Uwe Kayser to two violonists from Poland and Russia. From the Country Committee also friend Barna and friend Jörg Dienenthal with wife participated in the anniversary event, which was again hosted by RC Moscow International.
40 participants from Russia and Germany met in Koblenz for an event that was perceived as a further stage of the extremely gratifying German-Russian Rotarian cooperation. Embedded in a fine social program under the sign of the world cultural heritage of the Middle Rhine and the Federal Garden Show, for which PDG Ulrich Stelter deserves great thanks, the ICC meeting focused on the following topics : ICC Highlights of the year 2010/2011, News from D 2220 and the German Districts, Progress and wishes for club partnerships, scholarships and youth exchange, joint humanitarian projects, Rotaract, Future dates.
Guests from Russia, Germany, Lithuania and the Czech Republic attended the ceremony and gala evening hosted by Founding President Georgy Taturov and President 2011/2012 Stephan Stein. From the German section of the ICC the friends Bartels, Grabowsky, Jess and Kayser took part. Königsberg showed itself as an up-and-coming city again. Joint excursions to Rauschen and the Curonian Spit completed the picture and strengthened the Rotarian friendship.
PDG Nedezhda Papp was invited to the district conference by DG Klaus Mellinghoff as a representative of the world president. Her contributions to the ceremony and to the working session were highly appreciated. Many experiences and new project ideas were exchanged. The guests - Nadezhda and her husband Kamil - were pleased to have the opportunity to experience the German lead district for Russia during its annual review and the transfer of office to DG 2011/2011 Gerd zur Mühlen. Within the framework of a small side program, the guests were also able to get to know the cities of Wuppertal, Düsseldorf and Cologne a little and make new friends.
The event was dedicated to the first space flight of Yuri Gagarin 50 years ago. A benefit gala for children with severe health handicaps was attended by over 100 guests. The event raised US $ 5000,- for the needy children. For the two foreign guests, President Torbjörn Persson of RC Stockholm Arlanda and PDG Uwe Kayser of RC Neandertal, there were impressively positive insights into club life and community service activities of RC Saratov-Center, combined with a joint visit to cultural institutions (museums, ballet) and an excursion along the Volga to the landing site of Yuri Gagarin's space capsule. An official partnership was agreed with the Swedish club, and help for the children's project was pledged from Germany (planned matching grant with RC Wuppertal).
With the participation of RC Neandertal as International Sponsor, represented by PDG Uwe Kayser, RC Chelyabinsk was chartered as the 48th club of District 2220 on 08.04.2011. In the presence of numerous representatives of the two founding clubs RC Ekaterinburg and RC Szhebinsk the charter was handed over by DG Nadezhda Sofronova. The charter was also attended by RC Eckernförde, represented by PP Helmut Cramer and Dr. Heinrich Mehl. RC Eckernförde supports the Chelyabinsk State University with scholarships for the teaching of the German language and is currently awarding a third one-year scholarship to Germany together with the Rotary Foundation for the benefit of the student Tanya Schreiber (20).
In the presence of DG Nadezhda Sofronova (D 2220), DG Klaus Mellinghoff (D 1810) and DG Rainer Späth (D 1840), participants from 13 Russian clubs and three German districts exchanged views on their Rotarian work and wishes for cooperation. The social program included a visit to the BMW World, a dinner at the Franziskaner and a visit to the 200th Oktoberfest with a procession and the Paulaner beer tent at the Wiesn.
The ICC Conference, to which the Russian District 2220 had invited and at which six country committees presented themselves (USA, France, Scandinavia, Ukraine, Italy, Germany) and on the following day the festive event "20 Years of Rotary in Russia" in the Hotel Baltschug formed the framework. The meeting of the LA Rus-D, chaired by the Russian Chair Stephan Stein, was attended on the Russian side by representatives from Rotary clubs in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saratov, Kaliningrad, Annapa and Minsk(BY)
